New Mexico DWI Course Information

AMC Driving School provides the NM State required DWI class throughout the state. Please scroll down this page to see the course dates, and times. An electronic registration form can be submitted below to save your spot in the class.

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) DWI Course is a court ordered course that is typically assigned to a constituent by a Judge or MVD Official. This course is 12 hours in length and will be held over a three day period. The course does fulfill any NM state mandated 12 hour DWI School requirement. The course is sequential and must be completed in order as outlined by the dates below. At the end of successful completion of the course constituents will be provided a certificate of completion, in which they are able to provide for verification to the court or their compliance officer.

The “Registration Form” must be completed prior to entry into the course. The course fee can be paid with Cash or Money Order the first day of class. A pencil or pen is required for the class.

On the day of class staff will allow entry 15 minutes prior to start time. Classes will start promptly and late entry is not allowed. Please be prompt to your registered class sessions.

If translation services are provided it will be stated next to each class. If translation is not provided you are welcome to bring a support person translator to help you through the class. The support person will need to be over the age of 18.

DWI Education program information

Are you required to attend DWI School by the court? AMC Driving School offers a State-accredited 12-hour DWI Education Program designed to meet court requirements. Our program is conducted in three 4-hour sessions, providing the necessary education for individuals to comply with court-ordered DWI sentencing. Bi-Monthly offerings.

Important Information:

Pre-registration Required: You must register online or by phone before the first class.
Fee: $190 (Payable by debit/credit card or cash). All class materials will be provided, but you must bring them with you to each session.

Program Requirements & Rules:

Three Sessions: The DWI School consists of three consecutive 4-hour sessions totaling 12 hours. You must attend all three sessions to complete the program and receive a Certificate of Completion.
No Missed Classes: If you miss a class, if you miss a class you will be required to pay $50.00 fee per class you miss until you complete the course.
Completion Window: You must complete the program within the month you start. Missing any class will require re-registration, and fees may apply.

Additional Details:

Support Person: It’s encouraged but not mandatory to bring a support person with you. If you need assistance with understanding or writing in English, a guest can help you, but please inform us at least a week in advance.
Hearing Impairments: Contact us 30 days before your session if you need sign language interpretation.
Timeliness: Arrive 15 minutes early. Late arrivals will be asked to leave and will have to reschedule.
Student Manual: A manual will be provided during the first session. If you lose it or forget to bring it, you will need to reschedule for the next month (No Refund).
Substance-Free Environment: No alcohol or drugs before or during class. Anyone who appears intoxicated or disruptive will be asked to leave, and no refunds will be issued.
Re-registration Fee: If you miss a class or fail to complete the program within the required time, a $50 re-registration fee applies for the first re-registration. After that, the full $190 fee is required.

Certification of Completion:
To receive your Certificate of Completion, you must:

Attend all three sessions consecutively.
Sign in and out at the beginning and end of each class.
Complete all homework and participate in class activities.

Contractual Agreement

By submitting the form above, you are agreeing to the following:

• Attend all three consecutive sessions (as outlined on website) of the DWI course which will provide a 12 hour completion certificate for the course.
• Not consume alcohol or any other substances that could or will inhibit your ability to complete the course.
• Understand that at anytime can be dismissed from the course due to suspected substance abuse during the course and no refund will be issued and notification will be provided to the court.
• If you have registered for a course but fail to attend a reschedule fee will be assessed on enrollment. (reschedule fee will be $50)
• Understand that late or non-attendance can result in non-completion of the course if a reschedule date is not completed.
• If you begin the course and are not able to complete in the month of starting a reschedule fee of $50 per class session will be assessed.
• We will work to reschedule once- no refund will be given and additional fees will be assessed for reschedule. If you fail to attend on reschedule date course must be started over and beginning fees apply. • The course fee is $180 and book fee will cost $20.
